Hilton Head Island offers many activities

Hilton Head Island
has been developed with strict eco-friendly guidelines
to preserve the beautiful natural habitats. This constant
eye on preservation provides rich rewards as the island
is home to a many species of nature, such as alligators,
small lizards, turtles, and the famous Hilton Head bottle
nose dolphin. For bird watching, the island counts over
350 species of birds, a true bird watching paradise.
Please be reminded that there are over 100,000 alligators
residing in the State of South Carolina. Please do not
feed them, walk close to them in the lagoons, and please
keep your pets close to you and away from the water's
edge for everyone's safety.

Hilton
Head Island water sports are one of favorite activities
on Hilton Head Island. Local marinas such as Palmetto
Bay, Harbour Town, Broad Creek Marina and others offer
a wide variety of rentals and charter excursions including:
kayaking, small boat rentals, sailing, jet skiing, parasailing,
windsurfing, fishing excursions, dolphin watching, kids
crab and fish trips, parasailing, and deep sea fishing,
are all available. Don't forget relaxing on the beach,
sunning yourself, reading, playing in the ocean or just
listening to the waves roll in is also a perfect way
to enjoy your day here on the island.
If golf is more
your style, Hilton Head Island area offers over 30 incredible
golf courses, and was named by Golf Digest as one
on best places to golf in the country. The golfing event
that is the highlight of each year is the Verizon Heritage
Golf Classic held at world famous Harbour

Town Golf Links in
Sea Pines Plantation. Many locals call the Verizon Heritage
event, "Adult Spring Break" week.
Hilton Head is a tennis players
dream come true. There are hundreds of courts all over
the island, and several clubs rated in Tennis Magazine's
top 50 resorts. Appearing in the November\December 2008
TENNIS magazine, The Sea Pines Resort was listed as the
third best family tennis destination in the United States
in a list of the top 50 resorts. It was also ranked seventh
overall among tennis spots in the country and came in
as the second-ranked instruction tennis facility.

Hilton Head is also
home to two famous tennis pros: Dennis Van der Meer
and Stan Smith. The Van der Meer Tennis University is
world renown for teaching both amateurs and professionals.
With a mild climate that makes the season almost year
around, the availability of all three Grand Slam playing
surfaces you have a tennis paradise.
If you are one of
the thousands of visitors who enjoy the local cuisine,
Hilton Head boasts over 250 fine eating
establishments, ranging from fine dining to causal
al fresco dining near the water.

a wide assortment of items for every member of your
family. And don't forget to treat yourself to our island
spas after a long day of shopping or pamper yourself
before a night on the town.

with your family during "the season" which is
April through August, you can't miss Gregg Russell performing
under the Liberty Tree in Sea Pines Harbour Town Yacht
basin, or Shannon Tanner who performs at Shelter Cove
plus other family activities.
